HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

Anniversario anche per Tassoni, che festeggia i 7 anni di permanenza a Torino. Precisiamo che, a differenza mia, è dovuto passare per i controlli dell'Uffico Immigrazione...quale città accetterebbe così, di punto in bianco, un 'vomevese'? e l'hanno accettato...!

La foto è storica perchè è la prima che ci siamo fatti insieme nella oramai nostra città, datata 23 marzo 2001; indirizzo Via Sacchi 16, a meno di 1,5 km dalla mia ex casa del centro di Via Mazzini, traversa di via Lagrange. Aveva previsto una settimana almeno per cercar casa; il primo giorno, dopo averlo lasciato solo per le strade della metropoli da neanche 3 ore, mi chiama dicendomi che la missione era già compiuta.

Da segnalare che, da esimio matematico qual è il Tassoni, la prima volta che mi è venuto a trovare al nord aveva preso come riferimento non via Lagrange, ma bensì via Laplace. Ancora più incredibile è che mi ha trovato comunque, da che si deduce che è comunque intelligente.

Un'ultima cosa, visto che domani festeggia anche i 7 anni in Fiat: per il suo primo giorno di lavoro l'ho accompagnato (la strada che facevamo era praticamente la stessa). Scesi dall'autobus alla fermata dell'incrocio C.so Unione con C.so Traiano, ovvero di fronte la
palazzina centrale della Fiat, gli ho mostrato la grande insegna sul tetto (che da qualche mese è sparita), che citava: "Fabbrica Italiana Automobili...Tassoni" perchè, gli ho detto, "un giorno tutto questo sarà tuo..."...e forse non mi sbagliavo di troppo...

Anniversary for Tassoni (Raul, my friend), who celebrates the 7th year in Turin. Note that, unlike me, he was due to go to the Council Immigration Office...which city would suddenly accept a 'vomevese' (neapolitan from the Vomero quarter)? And they agreed...! The picture is historical because it's the first one that we have made together in what is now our city, dated March 23, 2001; the address was Via Sacchi 16, less than 1.5 km from my former home downtown in Via Mazzini, close to Via Lagrange. He planned at least a week to search for a house of his own; on the first day, after leaving him alone in the town streets from even 3 hours, he called me saying that the mission was already accomplished.

Note that as an esteemed mathematician that he is, the first time he came to visit me in the north, he took via Laplace as a reference, not via Lagrange. Even more incredible is that he found me however, so that we can deduce that he is smart. One last thing, because tomorrow he also celebrates 7 years in Fiat, is that I accompanied him for his first day at work (our trip was quite the same). Once we got off the bus at the stop in front of the central building of Fiat, I showed him the big sign on the roof (which disappeared some months ago) that quoted: "Factory of Italian Automobiles of...Tassoni (not Turin, as in the real meaning of the word)" because, I said to him, "one day all of this will be yours..."...and maybe I was not wrong...
