FIRE!

Collegandomi al precedente post, eccovi le immagini del motore Phoenix in azione (sarebbe meglio dire "Ipergolici in azione"...Flic sa perchè): bello, no? La prima accensione è del 15 ottobre '99, la quasi incredibile seconda nel tardo pomeriggio di luna piena del 23 novembre '99 (nessun riferimento all'anniversario del terremoto!), a 3 giorni dalla discussione della tesi. In effetti la data della laurea non era già stabilita perchè dipendeva dal funzionamento, almeno un'altra volta, di questo benedetto razzo, ma quella sera non ne voleva sapere. In sala di controllo io e Flic a controllare dalla telecamera. A un certo punto vediamo qualche scintilla venir fuori dall'ugello e quindi strillo: "OSSIGENO!!!!!!!!!!!". Flic aziona la valvola, l'ossigeno passa e...FUOCO!
La sera del 26 novembre '99, dopo 8 anni, 1 mese, 26 giorni e 18 ore circa (inclusi i 10 mesi del servizio militare), mi sono ritrovato "ingegnere"...

Regarding the previous post, here's a video of the Phoenix rocket in action: nice show, isn't it? The first fire was on october the 15th 1999, the incredibile second one in the late afternoon of the 23rd of november 1999 with full moon shining, only 3 days before graduation. Graduation day wasn't fixed because it depended on the good functionality of that God-blessed rocket, but that night it wasn't working. In the control room me and Fabio were watching it by a videocamera. Suddenly we saw sparks coming out of the nozzle so I screamed: "OXYGEN!!!!!!!!!!!!". Fabio turned a valve to let the oxygen flow and then...we had FIRE!
In the evening of november the 26th 1999, after 8 years, 1 month, 26 days and about 18 hours (including 10 months of military service), I found myself as an "engineer"...
